I like how the "crown" of the Wigwam looks like it's only supported by struts from the base. The sky is the same colour as the roof panelling,so the latter looks like it isn't there!

Its great looking at the views on the first page...so many artists impressions of what the skyline would look like...almost looks the same today!
A few night images from yesterday evening. All were taken on Seacombe Prom. The tide was up and the water was calm...perfect!

The second image has a "light-trail" of one of the Mersey Ferries...both of which were out last night holding functions.
Great pics:handclap:
I'll second that :PDT11
I'll third it :PDT_Piratz_26:
Wow! I'll fourth it! lol They are brilliant :handclap:
I like skgogosfan's one too, I can see what he means about the colour being the same.
Beetham West looks good with the blue strip lighting down the front. Great to see the Anglican fully lit for once. Great pics!:PDT_Piratz_26::PDT_Piratz_26:
Thanks all for the great comments!
I was a little bit worried there would be too much water in the shots...I didn't have a tripod, so I ended up putting the camera on the concrete foundation wall with runs beneath the railings. Anyone who's been to Wallasey Prom might have some idea what I am talking about. To be honest, I was a little lucky that the river was busy with the tide last night...the ships and the ferry do add a great deal to the images in my opinion.
Just to re-iterate...there is so much joy to be had looking through the first few pages of this thread, and then comparing to what we have now. Most of the visions are now reality, with plenty more still to come!
A couple of night shots. Got great ideas from my cameras Flickr Group and some great tips. These are also HDR Shots, though its difficult to tell at night.

From the ferry
These pics are superb :PDT11
Good stuff GD!
I thought the Mammoth had gone back to Germany, Is that the original?
Absolutely fabulous pics,GD. That skyline is becoming more and more
impressive and challenging - but you're keeping pace with it. And when you
get the weather conditions as well , superb!
Stan H.
Joe ,your pics would make a great calendar. I'd put one on my wall any day,and then frame the pictures when the year was up.
GD,
As I've said a couple of times before, great pictures, but so much better for those of us that do not get home that often.
Many thanks,
Tony
Thanks for your kind comments folks
A pano of the Skyline taken from (Birkenhead) Priory... This is a very scaled down version, but enough to see details.
