Both of those films were old then - mid 1960s. Did you go to the last night? Many people there?
There are few older pictures of the Classic (Odeon), on this site. WW2 with Mustangs passing going to Speke and one around 1935.

A corpy bus on Stanley road. A pair of ribble buses at journeys end, Skelhorne street. One of MPTE'S midi buses outside Liverpool Central during construction of the Merseyrail underground . A Overhead railway tram at five lamps waterloo. And last the top deck of a liverpool tram, but is it a green goddess or baby grand ??
I'm almost speechless at these pics, thanks so much :handclap:
For Waterways, this is the final advert in the Echo for the Allerton Classic
I did go on the last night of the Allerton Classic, the interior shots were taken then. Not many patrons, though.
Ormskirk, Liverpool bay platform signal and water column, January 1970
Bank Hall shed? ex L&Y pug, The thing on the chimney was a deflector, used when running under the Overhead, on the dock lines. A driver who lived in the next street told me that if you used it, the exhaust was deflected down and you couln't see a thing! Early 1950's? no details on back to credit.

Looking towards Lee Park flats, from Aymestry Court, Woolton, 1963(Went to visit a friend there and by chance had my camera!)
More pics next week.
Another heartfelt thankyou from me to all who have posted pics here. Fantastic.
Some more local rail. First up is Preston rd on the line from Exchange to Wigan now renamed rice lane . Blundelsand & crosby is seen around 1905. Next is Seaforth sands station and train shed. Edge lane station around 1948, this line may reopen to passengers under plans by merseytravel. And last Aintree Central showing the simple clinker platforms used for the race day traffic .
Some more from my collection, not as interesting or as rare as sirob's but here goes: the first is Stanley rd & strand rd in Bootle. The next view is a first class tram heading down Rice lane Walton. Track relaying is taking place in Rice lane, near Lynwood rd in the next view. Another view of Stanley road this time at the junction of Linacre rd with the north park on the right. And last a tram near the end of its journey at Aintree.
great pics.
that's Stanley Rd/Linacre Lane corner. that view has barely changed. apart from the trams the only main difference is there is now a roundabout in the middle of the junction..
The beauty of this building jumped up and bit me when last in Liverpool. I had my taxi stop just to take this snap. I only hope it is preserved it's so beautiful.
