Yesterday a plaque was unveiled by the lord mayor (Steve Rotheram) and Debz (Author of the Fastest selling Liverpool Local History book and my partner) in memory of the legendary Liverpool Boxer Dom Volante.
Here's a piece from today's Liverpool Echo...
And here's a photo of Debz,The Lord Mayor and Paolo Grassi with the Dom Volante trophy and plaque.

Cheers Chris.:PDT11 I forgot to mention that Paolo Grassi is the guy who made the plaque and the Hillsborough Memorial Eternal Flame. :handclap:
Great! :PDT_Aliboronz_24:
There is quite a substantial Italian community here in Baltimore. Older Italian immigrants play bocci (a counterpart to English lawn bowling) in the Little Italy neighborhood of East Baltimore. The Little Italy here features a number of popular restaurants. Two mayors of Baltimore in the 1950's and 1960s were Italians named D'Alesandro, father and son, and Nancy Pelosi, the current speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, a congresswoman from San Francisco, California, is a D'Alesandro from Baltimore.
All the best

Due to the success of the book and selling out completely, the book is going to be reprinted but it will be a revised edition.
More details when I have them.
We would like to once again thank all those who made this possible and to all those who bought the book.Plus a big thanx to our Kev for the use of his forum.:PDT11
THANK YOU ALL.
Great News :handclap:
Well done to Debz. I've got the book of course but noticed it in the Anglican Cathedral bookshop on Sunday. :handclap:
I enjoyed the first book. One of my pics in there :)
Very interesting read. Well done Debz.
Great to see local authors doing well. Little Italy was part of Liverpool's rich tapestry and should continue to be celebrated.
