Calderstones park.
At one time the Calder Stones acted as Boundary Stones when placed within this circle (shown on Google Streetview link). There is some writing on the circular wall, but some of it is now just below the tarmac. It's been a while since I photographed it, but I think there is a date at ground level.

Sefton Park today. The Beatles fans I had on my tour were in the Blenheim Hotel facing the park, the one time home of Stuart Sutcliffe. They wanted to have a wander around which the housekeeper kindly obliged.

.
Part of my summer holiday fitness regime so that the only 6 pack I take onto the beach isn't from Portugal's answer to bargain booze, I did something I haven't done since the 1980s and that's a couple of laps of Sefton Park yesterday in that baking sun - even though it had gone 4.30pm - good job it wasn't earlier.
Anyway, I checked in the mirror and the 6 pack is no nearer so I'll settle for posting the pics up I took afterwards on a stroll around.

Good pics, Ged. Had the water levels risen ? When I went last month, they were pretty low.
Yes, the lake was full and full of fish judging by the number of adults with rods and kids with nets. The new boathouse cafe was chocker too.
