I don't know if you have seen some of the old pics when they were building the Rockefeller Center. Some of them were lying down resting or sleeping on the girders. Must be mental.

The little house forms part of the bar area I believe. It was rebuilt brick by brick.

I remember reading about this when it was in the planning stage. I can't remember the reason but rhese cottages were of historic interest.

They are described as the Canal Cottages. Part of these buildings were/ are approximately 200 years old and were originally used as coal merchant's offices. They stood on the side of Clarkes Basin, which, at the turn of the eighteenth century, was a terminus of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The buildings were last used as laboratories in connection with the old St Paul's Eye Hospital which was demolished to make way for a surface car park which later became the Beetham Tower.

Didn't realise the historical significance of the building, but I'm glad it's been kept. I was wondering about it last time I walked along Old Hall Street, so that's another mystery cleared up!
