isn't it nice to see windows and not roller shutters
Well like my signature says these things take time. Does anyone remember this ? What happened to this awful scheme. This comes from the ''Liverpool city centre plan'' of 1965. Am so glad that this never got off the ground what we have now if far better.
That proposal sounds exactly the same as what we have now...but minus the concrete. It talks about escalators connecting with various streets, we have this now where South John Street is connected to Paradise Street ect. A further similar idea is the Arcade, although what has been built now is a slight twist on the concept.
That proposal might of made a better photo though.
Got no artsy Ideas for a photo since the architectures dull In Liverpool 1.
Saw the strand for the first time In my life last February when I got the train to Crosby. Awful tower blocks and cheap looking buildings, Bell Vale shopping centres worse.
Liverpool hire some terrible architectures over the last 40 years. The old buildings are brilliant and we should of maintained a reputation of great buildings.
It looks better at night.
Without people. :PDT_Piratz_26:

Be interesting to see what the impact is upon the rest of the city centre and if it pans out once the party is over. Would also have been nice to have seen more Liverpudlian labour employed in its construction.
took a load of pics in the car park this afternoon...here's just a handful

Nice pics! - What does it cost to park there?
thanks. erm no idea, I don't have a car lol. I only went in there to take pics.
my hubby did mention there was a way to pay by credit card plus there's a tag of some sort to get in there when the car park is secured of a night.
it's a great car park actually. lots of CCTV and very light and airy. I'm sure lone females in particular will feel very safe using it.
I've got to nip into Debenhams on the way to my Nans tomoz so I can always nip in Qpark and have a look.
Quincyg has caught the new Strand carpark nicely. I would recommend it.
