Supercharge to play The Cavern..
Official gig poster..
soon to be displayed around Liverpool..
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...ster-SMALL.jpg
Many moons since I saw them at ???????:handclap: Ozzy looks as hairless as Albie, now!?
The Sportsman maybe ?... I saw them every week on a monday without fail..
They played every sunday and became that popular they got the monday slot as well..
and packed the place out...pubs were empty around Liverpool on a monday back then.
not the Sportsman... choca block !
Supported many big bands and blew them away...
a few big bands would not play the same show as Supercharge
as they were that good and the crowd loved them...
They once supported Queen and Queen wanted them as their support on a world tour inc all over the states..
A well known mega loadsa dosh multi multi muuuuuuuuuuuuulti milliionaire record label owner would not back them financially so Supercharge pulled out..
Queen got Thin Lizzy at the last minute and Lizzy never looked back..
Never heard of them. Time for me to do a Liverpool trip methinks!
They were great. As Gerard says, they would pack a place out. Great band. :handclap:

The way your caught the sky in the first two pics looks really artistic, Gerard. Do you add your own tint on photoshop or something along them lines?
Thank you Kid... I dont have photoshop installed on my new Mac yet...I'm using Lightroom 3 and have just taken the exposure down a bit...I then used the 'lighten' brush thingy and brightened up the buildings a little, over done the saturation a little to give the colour a boost ant thats about that really....nothing false added to the sky or the pics, it was a very nice sunny cloudy day...
The pic of the garage was taken on a different day..
Cheers Kid... G...
No problem Gerard. I enjoy your slightly airbrushed photographs. Are you a professional photographer or just very good at your hobby?
Thank you very much Kid...thats a nice thing to say and lovely compliment...thanks again.
I'm not a professional but I'm involved with all kinds going on around Liverpool...my pics have been exhibited and there's a few exciting things coming off in the not too distant future.....
One project involving my photos and a well known Liverpool personality...this will be a massive joint Liverpool history project and I'm really excited about it...fingers crossed. !
Anytime Gerard.
I was going to ask you if you ever had an exhibition with your work, so thanks for clarifying that before hand. I know your work, along with Geds, has been featured in the Echo at various times, so local Media acknowledging your work is only a good thing.
Good luck with your project.
Thanks Kid..
I know Ken Rogers the Echo editor...he gets in touch now and again when he needs photos or me to give him the info for one of his Echo columns... he has photos of mine he'll be using at later dates...
Ken got one of his Echo colleagues to get in touch with me regarding doing an exhibition of my John Lennon related Liverpool photos...around Lennon's homes and schools etc.... the exhibition solely of my photos was supposed to take place last year but my friend Bill Harry could not make it so it was cancelled... they still have my pics and an exhibition of Liverpool Beatles related photos might be something for a future project.. !!!..
Thanks again Kid.. G...

More cracking Pics Gerard. Is that Frank Carlysle the Historian who used to talk on Radio Merseyside? I not listened for years (new job, different Radio station gets played) but I always imagined him to look older and look more concervative.

I've just spoke with him on the phone actually, I'll ring him back and tell him you said he's not old looking..

Actually, Gerard, what I like about those night time shots is that it makes me feel I am right there in the scene which says a lot about your camera work. Well done, mate.
Chris
Thanks John.. I'm glad you like them lad...:)

Thats a nice compliment Chris mate...thank you very much..
The night pics are very popular for some reason...good job wandering Liverpool at night is my fave time for taking photos..
I love the peace, quiet...people going about their business coming and going around Lime Street....and the almost quiet Dock Rd area area with noises coming from the River Mersey..the smell of The Mersey at night...the smell of the dock road at night....the dimly lit streets on a foggy night, be it around Canning St area or standing on my own at midnight around the Albert Dock area....or outside the Stanley Tobacco Warehouse taking in the dim lit shadows and vast size of the place late at night....I'm in my element then Chris and there's nowhere I'd rather be mate...
Thank you again Chris.... :PDT11
Gerard.
A very relaxing time to take in the scenery at that time of night. I can see why you prefer that time of night Gerard. I like going to Pier Head when its dark and Foggy. Eerie but beautiful setting surrounds the Liver Building. I took a few photographs but lost all my pics when my old Laptop caught a Virus and had to wipe everything. Will have to open a Flickr account.
It is relaxing Kid, you hit the nail on the head...I find it very therapeutic being out and about late at night...
Sorry to hear about your laptop problems.. did you have your important files backed up ?
