Over the entrance to the University Building in Byrom St. The left hand figure is Science and on the right is Art, by Fredrick William Pomeroy.
Art is holding a mirror in his right hand and in his left a small figure of Michelangelo. Looks as if they could do with some weed killer notice the big weed behind the sculpture

Here's Liverpool's latest addition,it's called Liverpool Heroes and it features double VC winner Noel Chavasse. It's situated in Abercromby Square for anyone who wants too see it,it was busy up there today so that's the best I could get.

"A great Medical Officer! one that Liverpool can be proud to be associated with" I had the honour of being present at the renaming of the old Wellington Barrack's to "Chavasse Barrack's" way back in the 50s. The service was conducted by a relative of Capt Chavasse, the then Bishop of (I think) Rochester. The Liverpool Echo published photos of this event and I would love to obtain copies if any were available. Anyone any idea's?
Cheers to All!:PDT_Aliboronz_24:

Detail on the entrance to Anfield cemetery
Fabulous photograph, gregs dad!
Chris
Recent Liverpool Echo photographs are available at Mersey Shop. However, since you say the renaming of the old Wellington Barracks to "Chavasse Barracks" that you attended took place in the Fifties, the Liverpool Record Office might be a better bet. For the latter go to Liverpool Record Office - home page.
Good luck, Norm.
