Thanks Taffy and Mandy, now you can see why I was so chuffed. I did grow up with another picture the same size, but he was in his uniform and his whiskers were shaped. Merseyside Police are still looking for it in their archives. Had an email from them this week saying still looking:shock:

Your welcome Chris. The one that was in my grandmother,s house was just as good as the one posted but it was a black and white one. His beard was a bit more presentable and he was in uniform. I,m still in touch with Merseyside Police trying to locate the picture or any information about my gt gt gramps.
