Nice! Last Wednesday was the scheduled date for the raising of the crane, but it was too windy so is planned for this Friday. Six new sections going in, raising the working height by about 100ft...
Dave can I rehost and post your pics on SSC? I love them, especially the last one, its crying out to be posted!
Im just making sure to ask as I know pics hosted on liverpoolpictorial cannot be shown on ssc and people have posted without your permission and you dont seem to like it!
I would just post a link, on SSC, to this forum and, if they are that interested, let them come here to view them. Publishing pictures on thier site is tantamount to promoting them and I don't think they diserve the patronage. At least not while they have some very childish mods on that forum. IMO.
im came here because ssc wasnt fulfilling me anymore. This site is boss, just not as many people here
As we speak, the crane is being climbed up. About 2 or 3 new sections in, plus one swinging about in the wind about to be added...
EDIT: Just got some photos...

That picture's outstanding Dave the best of the Beethams by far.:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
Ha ha, mental!! Anyone near Old Hall Street tonight wondering what the ear-piercing intermittent alarm is... it's the high-wind alarm at the top of the crane!
BRITAIN’S highest restaurant is to be created in Liverpool, offering diners stunning views of the city.
Local developers the Beetham Organisation want to open the exclusive bar and restaurant almost 400ft above street level on the 34th floor of their West Tower development currently under way in Brook Street.
It will be operated as part of the nearby SAS Radisson Hotel which formed part of Beetham’s first scheme in Old Hall Street.
Last night, Liverpool City Council’s executive member for special initiatives, Cllr Mike Storey, welcomed the project.
He said: “This will be an excellent scheme for Liverpool and will provide what must be some of the most stunning views of our city. The fact that it will open at the start of our Capital of Culture Year is icing on the cake. continues....
And a bog.
Bet only rich people will be able to eat there!
Screw fancy restaurants! I'd rather climb the crane with a couple of chocalate bars stashed in my bag! These are from late last year...
For chocolate, I'd join you up there.:PDT_Aliboronz_24:

Great pics, Dave.
It closes the view from London Road very well.

Dave, are your first two taken from the penthouse in the original Beetham?
Cracking pics. I'll post a link in t'other place. :PDT_Aliboronz_24:
You can also see the DOKA unit from Princes Park gates. :)
Can you go up the first Beetham?
Hiya Mark,
I took them from the 24th. I met Paul Beetham by the way. He lives in the penthouse and works out in the gym next door. His Dad owns the Beetham Organization. I asked him why his Dad spells "Organization" with a "z" and he said he'll bring it up with him:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
The Z Is the American way of spelling It ain't It?
Gym eh? Got no witty posts for that yet.:Smiliz_Kingz_PDT_13
i love the second picture from the top, really shows the height of the building:celb (6):
That last picture is great, all of the pictures are great but it's a pity that the old buildings in the foreground haven't been knocked down yet because they're a disgrace, thanks Dave.
You obviously broke in Dave... ;)
Nice pictures though - Beetham West is really coming along. I reckon the crane's going no higher as they've removed the 'climbing' apparatus, so we can get an idea now of how high the tower will be.
A couple of lads from the 28 Days Later forum:)

Ha ha, if only! Me and one of my exploring buddies see that as being a dream job! Imagine being outdoors all day, with those views... Nice picture by the way, quite a unique shot!

If I am fortunate enough, will try to get a view from the toll booths of the Wallasey Tunnel. May sound unflattering but, it's a great place to view the Beetham West Tower as it is seen towering over St Pauls Church in Seacombe. Such a contrast in views!
That tower can be seen from a few places though, even Thingwall (nr Heswall). I am also glad to say that I can see it every day to and from Birkenhead and also whilst at College. Most of the computers face it in the Learning Curve!
Great images Dave and Kev, you both got the tower from it's best side!
