This old sign looks like it was put up not by the Liverpool City Council but by the Garston Council prior to its 1902 incorporation into Liverpool. Doesn't look as if the sign's been painted since either !!

That Caryl Grove is the first I've seen where the Postal Number is part of the original design (apart from L20 & L21).

in the 80's when we used to take my grandparents home to Runcorn I remember a St Mary's Rd sign half sunk into the pavement near a church. Does anyone else remember it, or was I dreaming it?
