Is snappel a ninja? Looks like somewhere a Ninja can climb.:ninja:
Serious though it looks like one of the taller buildings on Dale Street like it was taken from. That Black building maybe?
It was taken from the Royal Insurance Building on Dale St. In the last week or two they've gone and sealed up the back doors which is disappointing, but I managed to get in there about six times. It's the one with the big gold dome on the tower.
But yes, a Ninja could climb it!
I was right.
Bleedin' hell lads, they're excellent pics. :) I especially like the fluffy clouds on Daves pic, and the fact that Sp Pauls Sq is adding a bit of depth.
Snappel, is there any chance you could post a larger/higher res copy of that pic? I wouldn't mind having it as a dsktop background. :)

On the completed Beetham Tower what is this little house looking building for?
http://www.liverpoolviews.co.uk/dale...am/raddis4.jpg
I remember reading about this when it was in the planning stage. I can't remember the reason but rhese cottages were of historic interest.
They are described as the Canal Cottages. Part of these buildings were/ are approximately 200 years old and were originally used as coal merchant's offices. They stood on the side of Clarkes Basin, which, at the turn of the eighteenth century, was a terminus of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The buildings were last used as laboratories in connection with the old St Paul's Eye Hospital which was demolished to make way for a surface car park which later became the Beetham Tower.

Didn't realise the historical significance of the building, but I'm glad it's been kept. I was wondering about it last time I walked along Old Hall Street, so that's another mystery cleared up!
Once I get a new bike wheel, I am going to out picture take Kev.:Colorz_Grey_PDT_16:

Great pics. I've asked before if you are very brave or just nuts, gotta be nuts!
Nice one Snappel
Love the one looking straight down, you see how tall the building really is, and consequently how high up you must have been??
Hope you don't
mind but I posted the pics on the Skyscrapercity forum, theres people who will love this on
there...

Bloody hell snappel they're spectacular.:PDT_Piratz_26:
I think the top of the 'crow's nest' bit is around 400ft! I have
to admit the first two times I went up there I was pretty nervous - the second time you could see the jib gently moving in the wind! Third and final time I
managed to keep my cool and the get the photos I posted above.
It's quite unreal up there - the sound of the breeze and the distant sounds of the
city. You feel in the middle of this huge expanse of city and lights but at the same time so alone. It's hard to explain, but it's quite an amazing
experience.
No worries about posting them on the SSC forum - if people there will enjoy them then it doesn't bother me!
Those pics are SO COOL!:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
Might go and take
some night shots tonight. My cameras charged up and ready.:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
Security around there must be crap!:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
Whos the
other fella up there?
The second Beetham Tower in Liverpool, Beetham West, has become the tallest tower block in the main cluster.
Designed by Aedas Architects, the
service core has reached the 31st floor inside the DOKA whilst the main structure is up to floor 23, 3 of the lower floors are now clad, and the project is
due to be finished in the autumn of 2007.
The scheme at 31 floors now exceeds the height of the original Beetham Tower that catapulted the developer to
fame and fortune with its success in 2001, spawning Beetham Towers in Manchester and Birmingham plus proposals in London and Brighton and transforming the
company into a label ubiquitous with high-rise living in the U.K.
Although it doesn't share the same architect as most of the Beetham towers, Ian Simpson
Architects, the sameness of the Beetham brand is maintained in the glass that covering the West Tower is strikingly similar to the cladding of Beetham
Manchester.
When completed the Beetham West Tower will have 40 floors above ground and reach 134 metres in height, almost an extra 50% taller than it's
90 metre tall neighbour.
As well as trumping this it also makes it the tallest building for the foreseeable future in Liverpool, but then we also thought
that when Beetham one went up only a few years ago in a city that is advancing so fast there are now multiple towers of around the same height under
construction and many more planned all in the same strip of land.

Who was your mate with you Snappel, as theres a person in the pic?

..I often prefer the look of these buildings whilst they're being built rather than the finished version and this one looks good with that structure with the yellow box on top.

The Echo building needs to be demolished and replaced with a bigger Beetham.
