.
Spooky! :)
That looks familiar. Check out the soldiers marching here.
Ged, that's a funny area to have a late night walk. Odd that I missed you...
Yes, you're right there dazza, but Steve and Pablo - come on. Anyone worth their salt knows the prozzies are now along Nethy and at the back of the Royal.
I found myself in town after dropping my daughters off in their boyfriends and thought i'd take a walk through the very atmospheric area of Canning with its mock gas lamps. I think the wet on the cobbles adds to the feeling too.
Many of the houses have those foot scrapers at the foot of the steps leading to their front doors.
Some more at the bottom of my 'Streets ahead' page of my site below.
As if you didn't know but be careful - there's no Cleveland Square clinic anymore - hidden away.
:002:
And there's no sailor's anymore?
Attached: a piece of paper more important to foreign seamen than their passports?
Hi Chris, unfortunately there's no date attached to the document. It was published in the Liverpool 800 book, by John Belchem. The document ref. at the record office is: LVRO 252 HEA 4/5/2
It was published in chapter [5] called 'Cosmopolitan Liverpool' describing the diaspora of Liverpool's waterfront. He talks about 'Scandinavian' populations preferring Liverpool to Manchester and refers to two tables dated 1911 & 1920 listed elsewhere. So anytime from there to the WWII, I'd say?
D.
Thanks, dazza. It looks as if the man whose name appears at the bottom of the document, Dr. W. M. Frazer, Medical Officer of Health and Port Medical Officer of Health, Liverpool, indeed did hold those positions between the wars.

No repairs yet on Regent road bridge
Great photo GD. Looks like the guard dog in the kennel is about to defend some personal space there? I hope you didn't have to do any running to get this shot for us?
Very nice shot, Joe. A bit depressing looking but nonetheless a stunning photograph. Bravo. :handclap:
Chris :PDT_Aliboronz_24:
P.S. What's the story with that doghouse-looking structure on the left of the photograph??????
Nice Photo GD, but please advise! "what is the true facts re the Dog in the kennel"? :PDT_Aliboronz_11:
Nice photo Joe.

Gregs Dad... Hope someone is looking after that dog.. don't see any food or water (except for the puddle)?? Poor fella.. Why have a guard dog on a bridge anyway??? Leashed up and in the cold... NOt a good thing..
I don't like the look of that set up with the dog :PDT_Xtremez_12:

It a dog kennel belonging to the travellers vans you can see,who are making use of the cul de sac created by the barriers, The dog must have been in the caravan while I was there it never stopped barking.
You would be amazed how many cars still come along the road and have to turn back not knowing about the bridge been closed. They should make up their mind whether to conserve the bridge or demolish it, and open up the road again
