Hi Brian,
If you cant make it to Liverpool to see the Queen Mary 2, on Tuesday here are a few photos of her on the maiden voyage in 2004.
I was looking forward to going but I am not allowed to drive until I am cleared by the surgeon on 18 November due to the Op on my shoulder.
She will be a magnificent sight along side the Stage.
She is the biggest Liner in the world. in length, width and height. some cruise ships like the `Wotsit of The Seas` have a larger gross tonnage.
The photo from the wing of the bridge shows four blades of the Pods, on the fore deck, an American passenger said to me,"Hey, these are magnificent sculptures" I had to tell him they were spare prop blades. he was not amused.
Photos of the Restaraunts, the Spa pool.
One of QM2 and QE2 in New York from the Empire State Building.
A picture of one of four Propulsion Pods, Shirley Bassey on stage in the theatre, views of the bridge or wheelhouse. 147 feet wide, and me with Commodore Ron Warwick now retired.
Forget the kids inheritence, book a voyage on her.
lovely pic .. haven't looked thru mine yet.. but will do when i have warmed up a little. that welcome tour was great, altho the tour guide was a bit pants (no offence)
will have to do it again next time another big ship comes in :D
Welcome tour? Were you on the Royal Daffodil by any chance?
nope i was on the 'snowdrop' you must have been just ahead of us, will have to check out pics when i post them, you might just see yourself :D
Hi Cap'n Kong and Jack Burton(sounds like a private eye)
I just glimpsed the pics of the QM11,yours Brian gave us good old tour around the inside and main decks and Jack you got it just right in catching her leaving port,
Thanks to you both,

Portholes on Q M 2, 1st,2nd and 3rd class perhaps???
We're watching you. River Police in action
Surely that should be "no entry!? It's on the outside.:unibrow:
could see that on playschool. And which window will it be today, the first class square windows, the second class round windows or the third class rectangle :PDT_Piratz_26:
Portholes on Q M 2, 1st, 2nd and 3rd class perhaps???
They dont have the old First Class Second Class etc anymore.
They go by the Restaraunt you book for. The top suites are the Grills, Queens Grill, Princess Grill, They have beautiful suites, big Private balconies, upstairs and downstairs on two decks, some have private Butler 24 hours, private lift, His and Hers marble bathrooms with gold taps, also a guest bathroom. bedroom, lounge and dining room for private entertaining with your butler service.
Then Britannia Restaraunt, the cabins are ,... inside cabin, outside Ocean View cabin. Hull Balcony cabin on deck five and six then glass balcony cabins on deck eight upwards., dont book deck eight balcony cabin they have a wonderful view of the side of a lifeboat, instead of the ocean..All varuious prices, cheapest is Inside cabin.
All the ships facilities are for everyone.
CORRECTED.
Top ones, Is Deck five Hull Balcony cabins
Is Deck 4 Ocean view cabins
Is Deck 3 is the Queens Room,
Is Deck 2 Golden Lion Pub
Nice photo Joe. At the bottom there's a door with a no exit sign. Wonder why.
5 the shell door with the `No Exit` sign on was open and the sign would be facing inboard. obviously someone has partly closed it. It would probably have a small gangway to it
I've been reading a load of Clive Cussler tosh called 'Plague Ship'. Off work sick with a double whammy of a chest and kidney infection and have to pass the time somehow.
Anyway, at one point the hero swings from his own ship to the cruise ship, via a grappling iron and rope. He swings against a large porthole and crashes through, unharmed, into the ship.
Absolute rubbish - that thick and reinforced glass would have been left with nothing but a bloody smear on it and our hero would have slid down the side of the ship to become fish food.
