Penrhyn Street off Scotland Rd,decorated for the opening of Christ the King cathedral.
Not sure if I`ve posted it before, from one of my slides
Great to see the photograph of Penrhyn Street decorated for the opening of the cathedral of Christ the King. Not sure if you have posted this image here before. It's the first time I have seen it at least.

Pretty good,Joseph...but alas yer still have not caught that ambience of a rainy day.
Bold street,Castle street and around this area for the rain type pics or any cafe, restaurants with outside canopy for people having a cup of coffee underneath.

Look at this one its unique, uncluttered with a touch of stonework in the bargain...bit dark but it works

United Utilities working in William Brown Street yesterday, hope they don`t break any of the old flag stones and replace them with tarmac
Thanks, Joe. I agree with you in the hope that they don't mess up what was there. Maybe they are doing it because of the need to repair or replace sewer lines or electric cables etc below the flag stones?
The pavement around there is in a terrible dangerous condition ...they can only improve the situation....providing they don't tarmac obviously !

Those cobbles were never relaid properly, last time they dug them up!
They are not cobbles, they are setts.
I stand corrected.....:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
I bet the number of qualified sett layers is getting smaller and smaller each year...
I always forget cobbles are different to setts. :PDT_Aliboronz_11:
Your going to pave your way into trouble with remarks like that grekko

Good pics, Lindy. Thanks for sharing them with us. Not cobbles of course but mosaic, carrying on the tradition of mosaic floors found in ancient times, in Roman villas in England, and by Italian immigrant craftsmen in Liverpool shops and other establishments.
All the best
