I used to have a girlfriend at number 51 Janet Street.I joined the Army in 1962 and unfortunately drifted apart(?) I lived down the bottom end of Wavertree Road in one of the 5 little streets, maybe "Klaato" who lived opposite Nuttals Electrical Shop remembers those little streets, eagerly waiting a reply and more photos ,marvellous site, out in rural Runcorn now!

Ryder Street
Speke Street
I lived on Wavertree Road between Botanic Street and Ryder Street.
I'd love to see any photos of that area as it was then...if any exist.:PDT11

Hi klaatu
You must know some of my younger brothers if you lived on the front and grew up in the 60`s/70`s Ronnie,Ted and tony, girls aswell:-Jackie,Margaret and Pauline.
They left there when it was knocked down in the late 60`s,I used to drink in the Halfway House,Did you know the Swanicks who lived opposite you above the Shops on the corner of Eastwood Street?
-
The Swanicks name rings a bell...was that the"Wool"shop?...Are you talking "Edwards" here?

The wool shop was on the corner of eastwood,Frank Swanick lives not far from me now,The Edwards, that surname rings a bell, did not one of the girls marry a Dom Valdez,I will have to get the grey matter working as I left the area in `62,they,my family, went to Netherley, they broke the community up as not many were put together ,but spread over the new estate.I was down in the Durning pub not so long ago having a pint on the way to the match, what have they done to Wavertree Road?
Are you still in the locality?or have you like so many moved away.
