I rather like the new look. We have to get to used to the idea that we'll never have the likes of the buildings again that were built in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Most of these were private companies making a statements, a pride in their HQ.

There's no going back now and the decisions were taken and we couldn't have done anthing anyway. That area of town will benefit from all the mixed use. Town was buzzing last weekend around there and long may it continue!
This canal link is a mill town development, not fitting in one of the world's largest deep water ports.
Nice to have it, however they butchered the deep water capability to make the place like Manchester or Sheffield.

We went down to the Pier Head last weekend, it's the first time I have been down there for about 12 months.
I really like the look of the new buildings and canal layout etc. They do seem to blend in although they are more contemporary and so they should be we are in the twenty first century after all.
Sometimes it takes time to get used to change, give it time.
Mann Island should have been a park running around Canning Dock to Chevasses Park, with part of the Old Dock excavated and LiverpoolOne built around the Old Dock with boats in it. Too easy is not it?Quote:

People seem to forget that there was an ugly old red brick nursing home and car park on the site of the new Liverpool museum.
I don't recall anyone kicking up a fuss about those monstrosities.
