Great pics all:handclap:
I noticed last week just how many street signs Sefton Street has! I think we counted 5. But I am sure there are more.

I believe some of my photos were magically disappearing and then appearing again the other day.
Don't know what it was all about, but hope you can see them now.
I noticed that this sign has the 21 as part of the original design, as also do some of the Bootle ones in this thread.
All the Liverpool central and south signs had the postal district number painted on in red, on plates that obviously weren't designed for the addition.

Old Post Office Place.
This old sign looks like it was put up not by the Liverpool City Council but by the Garston Council prior to its 1902 incorporation into Liverpool. Doesn't look as if the sign's been painted since either !!
Another Exchange Flags:
Hanover Street sign, made up of tiles? There is also another on this building for Paradise Street.

Excellent pics as usual :)
That Caryl Grove is the first I've seen where the Postal Number is part of the original design (apart from L20 & L21).
I like the background colour on this one.

in the 80's when we used to take my grandparents home to Runcorn I remember a St Mary's Rd sign half sunk into the pavement near a church. Does anyone else remember it, or was I dreaming it?
Nice to see you've been aroud Garston Quincy :PDT11
How on earth do u spot these gems?
more luck than judgement half the time. I only did a bit of Garston as my knees started playing up.

This was somewhat interesting; It's not often our streetnames give a little bit of local history!

Not a mode of streetname-plate design normally used in Liverpool...bit worn after 20 years service!
All taken on Thursday...on me old camera!
just shows how many interesting signs there are knocking about. I've never seen any with info on like those in Garston.
this is one of my fave things to look for along with signage and carvings on buildings.

Here's another one with the postal number (8) as part of the original design.
I don't know why I've never noticed it before, because I pass it quite often.

my bionic eye tells me that unlike the Old Garston Rd one, South Hill St also has a full stop after the 8.
there's one a few streets from me I noticed today on the way back from Somerfield with the number in the design . it's an old style one and the number is not as bold. I'll do a pic on my way out tomoz.
unusual to get 2 old ones on same street around here
pre-postcode
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e2...Picture563.jpg
post-postcode...notice the number built into design is smaller than the Caryl Grove and Old Garston Rd ones. there's quite a few of these 21 signs about but most are in poor condition.

old and new, handy as it was by bus stop on my way out

Crown Street continued

Jalons Bridewell: This appears to be an information sign, but it has a postal code.
http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...alons_sign.jpg
excellent :handclap:
did Jalons Bridewell used to be Colins Bridewell?
Yes, the Bridewell changed names. I doubt the new sign is street-legal.
Foxdale Road. If the sign is too small, paint on the wall.

Greek Street sign, bent to fit.

Another rare older South Liverpool sign with the postal number as part of the original design.
