Perhaps I've got circuses on the brain, but do Edwardo and Brian come from a long line of Ringmasters?
Wasn't there a pub up past Gregsons Well called Hengler's circus?
Also, isn't there Gerry Cottle's circus?

Yes Kevin,Henglers was a very famous circus and it stood where the Hippodrome was. In fact it was a horse circus and it was thought that my family was connected to it .If you read the very early chapters of my story on Hullo Old Home you will read the details. Apparently the Tivoli theater chain was also owned by the Hengler family, this included the London Palladium.
My Grandmother's maiden name was Ardran...allegedly a old Liverpool name, its certainly quirky! She married a Sheffielder, so I have the surname of Oakes...not a local name! Oh well!
My grandparents names where Cliffe, Jones, Windsor and Allmark
I've got a Jones in my family tree and a Kelly from the Isle Of Man. Kelly is supposed to be one of the most common Manx names.
Col
Smith is the most common surname in the world....
United States - 2,501,922 - 1.006% of the population
Lebanon - Haddad (Meaning Blacksmith or 'Smith') - 3.42%
United Kingdom - Smith (0.94%)
Scotland - Smith
I'm unique my surname is one of the least common...me sits down with little finger poised away from the cup.
Agreed, Admiral street was on the Dingle ward boundary with Prince's Park. The term Toxteth has come more into use these days largely since the 1981 riots. Technically the Dingle and Princes Park are both part of Toxteth anyway. Of course a Dingle is just a small wooded valley which would not apply to the area now called Dingle.
These days the City Council with their district signs have tried to delineate the Dingle/ Toxteth boundary as Park Rd. In historical terms, Toxteth went from Parliament Street to Otterspool Park. Hope this helps
And Ringo lived in Admiral Grove.
Hey, I'm looking for Eric Jones. He ursed to sell restored pens at the antique fair in St Georges Hall.
My Mothers name was Bridget Jones :) But she was called 'Delia' all her life , and nobody seems to know why !
I have a Jones living next door to me. My real surname is unusual as their are only 3 in the Liverpool phone book. and theyre all relatives.
