There was a rumour that the new Liverpool Hospital was going to be built on the area covered by the abbatoir. Yes, the Stanley pub still has the scaffolding on it. As for names, Fairfield starts from around the bridge on Prescot Road (and up towards Kensington) and everything the other side (Stanley area) would, I presume be classed as Old Swan. Mind you, I live in Tuebrook and have had letters sent to me in the past addressed as Old Swan and Stoneycroft.
