No Smurf I was just wandering where we are up to thanks.
June 8th will be the next one by my reckoning then? One photo per day - doesn't it have to be your own???
Hi Kev
The Wavertree Monks' Well photograph was taken by me in the Sixties, when I took a number of black and white photographs of local historical sites. They vary in quality but I like this one because it has the two Liverpool lads in the photograph one with the mucky face and the other evidently picking his nose. I'll be posting more in coming days. I think the square b & w pics were taken with a Kodak Brownie camera that I acquired about 1964. I later graduated to a Russian Zenith 35 mm and then a Pentax 35 mm that I bought second hand at a shop on Manchester Street by the Mersey Tunnel entrance while I was working as a temporary clerk for Liverpool corporation in 1967. I have a number of color slides that I took with those latter two cameras that will need to be converted to jpegs to post.
All the best
Chris
Think the rules have slackened a wee bit this year. Supposed to be only one posted per day, so I'm assume later ones on the same day don't count... as for being ur own, preferably but I guess the odd one from our overseas cousins would be ok as long as they've got permission. But I don't make the rules, so not for me to say really :)
I asked Matt yesterday. It really annoys him that this does indeed happen, like the woman can't steer the boat. :PDT_Xtremez_12: He said it annoys him to see woman and girls of all ages at those heavy locks when there is at man sitting at the steering wheel. He recons this is why many of them are so fat!!! He does his and his wife steers, he said it is his exercise!

How do you upload images you have taken?!
I've tried, but on the 'Insert Images' icon you can only attatch images on the web. Is this right or am I missing something?

What are the chimney things for ?
The pier moves up and down on them according to the tide
I guess the old Pier Head was just floating and held in place by the bridges hinged at both ends.
What was the story behind the sinking of the original Pier Head?

Great pic Empeebee, I'll pm you about posting images.
Great pics the last couple of days. :handclap:
re posting pics
It is better if you resize your pics first.
Probably practice a trial run first with some duplicated copies - you don't want to lose anything by making a mistake !!
Join a photo host - just Google 'photo hosts' and a list will come up). I use Photobucket which I find easy.
In Photobucket, click on 'upload images' and then 'Browse' - your documents will come up. Select the image you want and click on 'Upload'
Wait a second and it will upload into Photobucket.
If you have a lot of pics you can use the 'BULK Upload' facilty (this takes a few moments to activate) you then follow instructions to upload multiple pics.
When you have all you required photos, you can then resize them smaller.
Click on an image to bring it up on screen.
Click on 'resize' (options are above the image)
Click on 'message Board' size.
wait a second for the picture to resize, then you can save it back to a new folder in your docs. (a seperate folder so you will know the resized pics from the others). Right click on the image and 'save as' (save in where ever you want it to go in your docs).
To post the pics on the forum, copy the image code at the bottom of the pic, then paste it onto a reply. (right click on the image code, select 'copy' then go back to forum and in a reply click 'paste' - then you submit the post. the pic should come up ok ).
I think that's more or less it ! :)
Click this. http://imageshack.us/
Click browse and when you've found the pic you want from your computer, click upload now. The size is already set for this forum.
It'll appear as a thumbnail on the left when loaded. Copy and paste the jargon from the 4th row down under the pic into your message.
A free www.photobucket.com account also works - some details here -
