There used to be some in West Derby village by the bus stop next to the Sefton but they were maid into a hairdresser's. Heard they were something else again now but not sure.
Was also some in the St Oswalds gardens next to All Mankind on the Prescot road side
Roundabout at the top of the High street in Wavertree are still there arent they?
I Remember the ones underground in Victoria street but wasn't there underground ones in the old Clayton square as well or is my mind playing tricks?
The finest public toilets of the modern-age are these.

There were some just off Leece Street, adjacent to St. Luke's Church. There are also some just beside the Liver Building - these were in use until recently but I'm not sure if they're still open.
A bit further afield were the undergrounds at Lord Street, Southport. These were vile and are now open as a wine bar or similar. I noticed this about 12 months ago... I haven't been to Southport for a while.

The Southport ones are a nightclub called 'Core' now.

Park Road (They were built for the market).

I went past so Aigburth ones near the Vale on that tunnel you use to cross the road.
Only been in em once when I was caught short on my way home from school. The subway was notorious for muggings and the like but we never saw anything. In the gents there was an 'office' where presumably the caretaker sat...must have had a lovely smell while tucking in to his butties!!!Quote:

And today I noticed that another part of Liverpool's Public Convenience History has been demolished - The facilities outside the Royal liver Building.
Pity I hadn't had chance to get a photo.
Remember though when public toilets were all over the place, now you can never find one. Council's are fed up with the damage and up-feep I guess. It seems you can now only find them in places such as shopping centres.
I know that in parts of Scotland I've visited the councils still provide the conveninces but charge 20p, I feel this is completely reasonable as the standards are always maintained and many have an attendant on duty at all times.
One thing I do find quite funny though is that you get a ticket when you go in - 20P ADMISSION, NON REFUNDABLE.

This block is hidden away nowadays, but I'm 99% sure it was a toilet block in the 1970s (St James' Road)

A photograph of the ceiling of the public conveniences that were built underground in Derby Square. This shows the domed ceiling which protrudes above the ground. People are walking along the street. The street running behind the public conveniences is likely to be Preesons Row, and the street running off that, Redcress Street

I know it's not quite liverpool, but there used to be some off south rd in waterloo (I don't know if they're still there). Will have to get a bus down there sometime and see if they're still open lol.
There also used to be some right by the front of south park in bootle. I remember a college lecturer telling us a story about him using his scanner on the police frequencies and hearing them describe an incident of 2 men being caught taking part in a sexual act there. lol
I thought most have them had been closed due to these sort of incidents and muggings etc. If they opened new ones, you'd need a bouncer on the doors at night !!!

There were also ones in Lodge Lane [opposite the Pavillion Theatre] and Prescot Rd [wall of the Police Club] as well as behind a pub in Oldham St in town,and at the junction of Catherine St/Myrtle St,same side as the Phil.
