Just to say thanks to Brian's daughter,Jo, for keeping us informed, and hope Brian will soon be gabbing away:nod:
Best Wishes, Steve.
That's good news - get well soon, Brian!
Stan H.
Thanks Norm, glad Brian is hanging in there, I am very hopeful he will make a full recovery - I want to hear more of his stories, I am sure we all do. Good luck Brian mate I am thinking of you.
Chris.
lots of ex seaman friends of brian from other sites such as the sailors home and ships nostalgia have sent brian get well messages and all wish him well,
regards liverbob.
Also heard from Jo and I'm trying again to get to see Brian this weekend. Hopefully my car troubles should be over - get it back this afternoon. For a few days this week I've had to borrow my wife's car to get to work. That was hard - it is bright red and she has a Liverpool FC sticker across the back window, and I'm an Evertonian. Forgive me, Ged.
Blue spray paint in the post Kevin. :PDT_Aliboronz_24:
Glad to hear Brians awake.
Quote from Kevin:-" I'm an Evertonian. Forgive me, Ged."
We'll forgive you for that Kevin!!!! If you do get to see Brian I'm sure you will let him know that all on 'Yo' are thinking of him, and wishing him a speedy recovery! Cheers:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
Spoke to Jo earlier. Brian is still very poorly and she's suggested I wait a few days before going to see him - he can't talk and finds it distressing.
She reads his emails to him and he enjoys that so if you've been emailing directly, please keep doing so.
Cheers,
Kevin
Sorry to hear of the news of Brian's illness. As a fellow Freemason, I wish him a speedy recovery and will be raising a glass to him at 9pm Friday. (it's a long historical 9pm toast to remember all poor and distressed Freemasons). :PDT11
Hope he is okay and recovers.
I've just read of Brians illness, Please give him my regards, and tell the lazy sod to get back here and start writing again. Kong and I will be telling more lies on here soon.
Seriously Brian, get well soon. thinking of you.
Jeff.
hHi Jeff, I have sent three emails to his daughter, I guess she must be busy visiting him in Hospital. I dont know what condition he is in I have had no reply yet.
I came home last wek from the Antarctic with one broken shoulder and a trapped nerve in the other one. difficult to have a drink with two arms unable to lift a glass up. Been in hospital every day this week.
I was attacked by a bull seal, he thought I was after his harem of Cows.
I tried to escape over some rocks that were covered in ice and slipped head first into a gully and got stuck. Lucky the Bull couldnt see me or he might have given me one.
Good trip. enjoyed every minute.
:)
"WELCOME HOME AGAIN BRIAN"
I guess you will need a couple of straws now to have a drink ?????
Bob F :handclap: :handclap:
Thanks for that Bob.
what I need is a couple of barmaids like these two I met in Buenos Aires on the way down there.
Good jokes as usual Bob. needed a good laugh.:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
Welcome back Brian,
I see you can't go anywhere without starting a scrap. Met your match there though, a! He was obviously aware of your reputation with the ladies!!
I see you were still at it in B.A.!
I'm sure you've found a way of pouring alcohol down your neck without the use of your arms. Hope it all heals soon.
Do you know what is wrong with Brian? I do hope he's getting lots of get well messages.
Jeff
Should Brian be safely at home the I'd like to wish him a continuing speedy recovery and hope to have him back onboard the goodship Yo! Liverpool very soon!
Hi Chaps,
Haven't spoken to Jo since last week - I'll try her later today. I don't think Brian will be much improved as yet, given what Jo said last time, but hopefully he'll pull through.
Kevin
:)
I see that you had "A leg up" down in BA Brian !!!,- you haven't lost your touch !!!.
Bob F :handclap: :handclap:
Kevin, does any one knbow what happened to him, what is his illness??
and why did he need a trachiotomy?
Hi Brian,
Jo told me some of the details. As far as I understand it, he had a chest infection which led to pneumonia - with a dose of pleurisy thrown in for good luck. However, I don't know why that would lead to the need for a tracheotomy.
Brian doesn't know he has had that operation as he can't actually lift his hand to his throat - and they've decided not to tell him for now. He tries to talk to visitors but gets very distressed when he can't - which is why Jo advised me not to visit yet.
Jo believes that he should eventually recover some ability to talk, but it isn't guaranteed. She's really worried about that as the guy can talk for England and losing that faculty would hit him hard.
For now, all we can do is hope and pray (I'm not a religious guy but I've sent the odd one or two prayers up on Brian's behalf). Also, keep sending him emails as Jo reads them to him and it cheers him up.
Regards,
Kevin
Thats sad news I hope he is okay.
Thanks for the information Kevin, I understand it better now.
Just hope he comes out of it
Cheers
Brian
Brian was on the Skype to me one saturday.
he was telling me that it all stems from when he fell on a spike( see in his childhood story) The meucus from his throut was closing his tubes. The operated on him the week or so before.
As he was talking to me he said he had to go as he was feeling funny so I told him to call his wife from thro the room.
Next thing I hear is the e mail from Jo.
That was about three weeks ago.
So I asume that was has caused the trouble .
We will just have to hope and pray that's it all ends up well.
Ron
Thanks for that Ron.
Lets hope he is okay I am sure you will agree with me that he is a very intelligent and good man.
"Thanks Kevin & Ron, for the info on Brians illness, Lets hope he gets better soon, ! It's obvious that he was doing too much after his op, thus the Pneumonia & infection. "Get well soon Brian"!
Has anyone heard of Brian`s condition recently, I have sent three emails to his daughter, but no reply.
I'd also like to know Brian. I hope all is well.
Jeff
I'll give Jo a ring today, but only have her landline so she is hard to catch in.
