on my site include 7 photos of streets demolished and abolished for the building of the Royal Hospital and some from around Anfield on matchday in December 69.
The last 4 around Everton and Myrtle street are very atmospheric too.
It's taken many trips to the LRO and with thanks to individual contributors too, the 6000th pic has just been uploaded to my site today including these.

Woolton Village in 1952

More than 5750 of the photos are previously unpublished though these two were back in the 1980s, the LRO books now being out of print.
.
That picture of Queens Square is amazing.
Spent this morning uploading another few dozen pics to the site.
If you like 40s and 50s tram photos and the views they bring, check out this page.

Great pics Ged.
Your bringing a lot of history back by uploading all these. :handclap:
By the way I know how long all this uploading on your site takes and know you put in a huge effort. It shows in your web site. A great place to view these brilliant pics :PDT11
Thanks Spike :PDT11

Are you from around these areas or just like the old black and white shots from the decades gone by. Dozens more LRO shots uploaded to this page of my site yesterday: http://inacityliving.piczo.com/?g=44843738&cr=7
And some to some of the other pages but the home page will tell you which pages are updated.
Enjoy.
Been on there,
Still professional as ever Ged :handclap:
Sorry Mart, not me , have you got the right site :)
Excellent as ever, Spike... err I mean Ged.
is the woman in the first pic carrying a baby or just walking with her arms folded ? I've never understood why women do that lol
I'll just ask her.
Thanks Taffy. It's nothing special, just a Kodak pocket digital camera from Argos. I just line the photos up on one of those shaped foam thingys they give you and focus in on it and make sure there's no overhead lights reflecting on the photo, make sure i'm dead still then click.
My mate used to actually bring his portable scanner, cheeky sod, but they stopped that :)
I didn't think you could take a pic of a b&w pic and make it colour anyway. I'll have a pint of yours George ;)
:unibrow:
Cheers mate, will keep trying. :)
I've told you, it was fields prior to Lancelot Keay's masterplan in the 20s ;)
Throw some street names at me and i'll have a look. :)
Some new uploads to this page of my site over the last couple of days
http://inacityliving.piczo.com/?g=44843738&cr=7
Including Breck Road, Kensington, City Centre, Rathbone Road and Kirkdale Road amongst others.
Excellent as ever, Ged. That page is getting a weee bit long though lol
Coz I'm hopeless at remembering what places look like now when I see the pics (that's if I've even been there), I'd love to see now pics next to all b&w ones. If I ever do get the confidence to go round taking photos, I wanna recreate all the photo's I've got in my bootle photo books... could be a long wait :)
Almost missed this post with all them 'click liverpool' threads appearing.
Those click ones are a nuisense when they're duplicated. I clicked on new posts and there were 3 pages of them.
I was going to do the black and white photos by each post code to a page but its too far gone now. Besides, you've got to look at the lot to get to possibly the one you're looking for whereas clicking on the postcode page, you'd miss the rest.
Well that's my excuse anyway and i'm sticking to it. :)
I'm not complaining about ur length (of the page !!!), but I've got a very short attention span and would lose interest till another time. What about in-page hyperlinks ?
Only a suggestion, after all I cheat and find something that does the work for me whenever I do anything web related :)
Having just uploaded the 6,500th pic to my site, it's just gone past the 200,000th hit on the webcounter.
Thanks to everyone, especially as i've just found out that when uploading, they don't count as hits as you're on building mode rather than visiting :)
Ged, do you have a Wirral section on your site? B#'head and Wallasey are a part of Liverpool as Huyton is.
