The old North Western Hotel on Lime St converted to halls of residence for
students with a bar called The Head Of Steam in the left hand corner.

They were seriously thinking of demolishing the old hotel at one time, and because of that an urban myth grew that St George's Hall was threatened with demolition, which it never was, but it was mothballed when the courts closed.Quote:
