The current Computeractive magazine has a workshop on this subject.
I think you get the same effect on manually operated old cameras with differential focussing .
I think that the camera can not achieve such a focus. Only the software.Quote:

I really rushed to say that the camera can not get pictures with this effect. I mean that the easiest way would be is to make it with a software.

Putting a filter over the lens will do it,the more expensive cameras have an attachment so the lens can be tilt shifted,hence the name "tilt-shift"Quote:
