Some views from West Derby Parish Church tower in April 1975
And the bell ringing room plus clock
Some railway pics;
Rainford Junction, from intersection bridge, March 1965
Signalman at Rainford Junction, December 19
Rainford Village signalbox, March 1965
Southport railway relics auction, 1965
That signalman looks like he can play a mean tune on his guitar!
A change from my train, tram & bus pics. (more soon unless everyone's bored with them.) These are from the 1933 Bootle guide book: In the last shot,you can see Southport rd & Bailey dr. Roberts school top left, & Bootle cemetery middle left. Also at the junction of Southport rd Bailey dr on the cemetery side you can just make out the police box that once stood here. Don't know when it went, it just disappeared one day!
Excellent once again merseywail.
Notice how clean the streets where,lovely.:PDT_Piratz_26:

With the mount of pics betwen your good self & Sirob, you should think about putting together a book..!
Love the pics of Woodside sta - yet another great building hastily done away with. And for what? To suffer the injustice of becoming a bus depot...
