Your hair goes with your jacket anyway. Who said it was just women into matching things up when buying.
Good photie .. I recognised you straight away, I can still see it's you ! :)
looks like you were having a great night. :PDT_Aliboronz_24:
The guy in the middle at the back looks like a young Terry Molloy - who started on the door then managed The Odd Spot.

Hair loss caused by some rare poultry-related disease I believe. Usually sexually transmitted so the mind boggles how he caught it.

Erics,I won tickets of the late Phil Easton on city,to go see Mental as Anything, who I think went on to become that sad band who sang everywhere you go,you always take the weather.
Guilty of also goin to the grafton, she, conti, what a sad life i had lollollol
soz Kevin, got me thinking cap on,the band was Split Endz and the album was mental as anything,
and they did go on to be crowded house
Bob Seger and silver bullet band were also great,he co-wrote the Eagles number one hit "Heartache Tonight"

Split Endz,New Zealand band from 'the Rose City' Te Awamutu.First album was 'True Colours' I think.
Split Enz did go on to become Crowded House, but Mental as Anything are a seperate band, who are still around,at least in Australia!
Just bought another copy of 'Nine Tonight' from Amazon for £7 - last one was stoled a few years ago. Playing it constantly in my car.

We used to perform 'I got you' by Split Enz back in 80/81.
Nobody has mentioned the Knightsbridge in Duke St.
My favourite haunt was the Cavern, where I met my wife, and then Ugly's.
How many can remember Ugly's full name when it opened?

Oh, forgot to mention that the night usually started in O'Connors.
Hi nikl,I remember the Knightsbridge, think it became the pink parrot,
until the shootings or visa versa,Ged will put me right,
I did a post on O'Connors remember it well ,
Hi Savo, when did you frequent O'C's, I was a regular from about 69-72. There were a lot of characters in that place, and I knew quite a few of them.
Ged,
Neil and Tim Finn live here in Auckland and in fact Neil's son is also a great musician. They have just been playing concerts down at the waterfront while the Rugby World Cup was on. The song, Always Take the Weather With You is a real favourite here in New Zealand.
If you go onto the Real Groovy website they will have plenty of Split Endz/ Crowded House music secondhand
at www.realgroovy.co.nz They specialise in vinyl but have millions of CDs and you can put stuff on a wish list and see if its traded in. Let me know if you want me to pick anything up and mail it out to you-
Was a regular at O'C's a bit later, 71,till it's demise,a few years later! I eventually got hold of a copy of the Liverpool Scene album,"Amazing Adventures of..." who's cover has a picture of the band, and various regulars, standing at the entrance, and got it framed! Happy days!
Nikl,
It would of been around 75 I was in O'Connors, was The Knightsbridge also The Pink Parrot,on the corner of the opposite end of block to The Monroe Pub,which was run in the 80's by Peter Mac,
Annabels in the 70's was a top night club I believe. I bet a few of you "oldies" shook yer booty there a few times. :unibrow:
Ugly's Motor Music, or something like that.
Very close Kevin, it was Ugly's Music Motor.:handclap:
BTW, what were the shootings mentioned involving the Knightsbridge? I've been living in Australia since 79 and never heard about it.
Hi all,What about us drinking and driving in the 60s, the mates and i would think nothing of driving out to the Neptune ,Preston brook,Carlton Warrington,Salter Weaverham,Paradise club Wigan,The Garrick in Leigh,The Regency Widnes even the twisted wheel Manchester,a gang of us would travel from Liverpool on a Sunday night to the Cherry tree and Red admiral in Runcorn (why i can't remember),it might not seem far now but no motorways then, let's here some more cheers Johnny
Does anyone remember a pub near the Victoria Monument known as The Round House?
I used to work at the Chequers in the late 60's early 70's. Wally & Findlay on the door - what characters they were! I loved working here, great people I worked with too - Claire, Joan, Barbara, Marie to name a few. Tommy Barton was the owner when I first started there; then Wally Booth took ownership. Roy Adams used to often come in. He wrote a book "Hard Nights" this is a great book on Liverpool Clubs.
Hmm!
Cavern, Iron Door, Mardi Gra, Cabaret, Pink Parrot, Rumblin Tum, 21 Club, Embassy, Glad ray,Shakespear, Athenaium, and more. Had a few nights in many of them in the sixties and seventies. Still remember the hang overs, but not much else.
