Could somebody please confirm whether or not the Green Man in Vauxhall has been knocked down.
I have been under the impression that it had been demolished, but I've been told that the pub is still there.

Found this postcard of the Philharmonic pub.
Apparently not there anymore-can anyone tell me any moreabout it-find a pic or just tell me if there is anyone who will remember it or can tell me if it was actually on the dock road in 1940's onwards??????????//
I can check it out later from pub books I have at home unless anyone can help out in the meantime.
thanks a lot ged if you just replied to me-that would be very helpful and i would realy appreciate it. cheers.:):)
Shirleya. Sorry but could not find the pub in any of my books, not every single pub is covered in the 4 volumes of a pub on every corner unfortunately.
The 1938 directory has the Curiosity Vaults at 95 Park Lane, landlord Charles Kennedy.

Has Barrett made up his mind whether the diary is a hoax or not? I think his behaviour has discredited the whole project.
Some great photos of Old pubs here. I remember the King George in the mid to late 80s when it was still going strong. It was a lovely building. Old buildings like this should be preserved and if nothing else, transformed into apartments. They are Victorian/Edwardian and we shall never see the likes of them again.
Thanks a lot for that tony and anyone else who tried to help with my pub question-most helpful and it was much appreciated.-thanks.
update on the Lamb in Picton, still no sign of any work still wraped in plastic.

Passed the remains of the Botanic and it's half down. a very sad sight, used to like this pub, used to call in after work on the tech park.

Has anyone got a picture of the Vine Hotel at the corner of Falkner and Vine Streets. It was a Bents Brewery pub. I think it was knocked down in the mid 1970s. Gerry(2)
Hi everyone
Now i have the address of the pub ive been searching for -can you amazing people tell me anything else at all??/ What area is park lane in??? Does park lane still exist and is there a bulding still standing where 95 park lane was/is???? I am sorry to sound dumb but i have no idea -not been to liverpool that many times-but i intend to alter that this year as i am sure its going to be an exciting place to be and i hope it has a brilliant city of culture year. In fact im going to watch it on tv now. I just love ringo starr's new single . Enjoy yourselves you lucky things!!!!!!!!:)
The corner of Dickenson Street/Park Lane is just a patch of grass. There are still several old warehouses South, around Jamacia Street/St. James's Street. (this is the continuation of Park Lane).
This site will give you some idea of what the area was like.

I don't remember seeing a pic of the block that contains No.95 Park Lane, but the blocks before and after appear in this book:

This Toxteth pub on Mill Street is up for sale. Perhaps closure is on the cards.
thanks everyonefor all your help on my pub-will check out all the stuff you all sent me thanks a lot-much appreciated.

Are the triton and the beehive still on paradise street after all the works or are they gone now
The Beehive is still there, then a couple of shops.
Everything else was demolished until you get to the Eagle, which remains.
triton was a bass house, 5 steps up to the front door, used to have a beer there after getting of the iom boat before jumping the bus home, the beehive was good for a few swift halfs on a saturday afternoon with my girlfriend as they had some nice comfy couches you could spread out on.
The Triton was on one of our weekend 'crawls' and was where we popped into on my wedding day (from the Moat House) in that in between period between the breakfast and the night time disco. Does anyone have any pics of it?
Not Liverpool in particular, but the results of drinking too much - have fun:

.
Someone somewhere here was looking for the Mile End pub and the Everton Vaults, can't find the requests even via the search facility so i'll just pop em' on here until they're stumbled across.
From Freddy O'Connor's 'A pub on every corner' vol 4.
Coopers looks like a nice warm get away.. Nice pics... :PDT_Aliboronz_24:
tad off topic but i was working in london in 1988, and went for a boys night out in soho , we went in many bars clubs etc , but the best one was a bar that had a sign outside that read, ' we serve warm ale and lousy food", the place was chocker.
Anybody remember a pub on Boaler St run by the Murray family? After John (I think) Murray died it was run by his wife, Hilda. For a while she was helped by her son, also called John but known universally as 'Ginger'.
This would have been late 70's and early 80's.
There's only 2 on Boaler street these days, the Sir Walter Raleigh and Macs but there used to be another couple at Farnworth street end.
also slightly off topic but the pub ive been trying to get a pic of-the old curiosity vaults/old curio on park lane-well it was run by the bray family and one of the lads jimmy bray was a well known welter weight boxer in the area-does anyone remember that family or is everyone on here too young???? think he was same era as randolph turpin. thats prob. far too early for you all-but worth a try-maybe your grandads knew the family.????????
To be honest i know nothing of randolph turpin-only that he would not fight jimmy bray-but maybe that was just paper talk. Ive been to the top of the great orme though-never knowing it was his place once-wow-thanks for that. Was randolph big in liverpool then???? I have an article cut out from one of the papers of the time-around 1943 where it was saying jimmy bray and his team were trying to arrange a fight between him and randolph but he kept backing out . Insinuating that he may have been afraid to fight jimmy-so i presume from that that randolph had a reputation ???????
sorry-gone off topic there-but it is kind of associated with pubs -kind of......
