Lovely pic Max :handclap:
Great pics all. I took loads myself today but can only add this one to the pot as all the rest have been covered by your goodselves.
I'm quite fortunate in that I work in one of the buildings on Princes Dock (and no, it's not the one that you can't take pictures of!) so I get to take photos from the 4th floor of the ships/boats at the landing stage.
Kev - just a thought but why not have separate threads for all the different ships/boats berthing at the landing stage? There's quite a few due in this year.
Keep up the good work folks :handclap:
Not this time.....
The Port Police were busy elsewhere today.
Great pics from Crosby, might try that end when she visits in July!
Here's my effort for tonight, not as artistic as some but was an experience myself and the Grandkids will remember for ever.

I think that if they're all kept in the one thread, it will be the definitive thread to look for, especially in the future.
I see the Ark Royal one went off on a tangent, and dare I say that individual threads are "Here today, and gone tomorrow."
Yes, there have been great photos posted. :handclap::handclap:
How many were at the leaving today?
For a number of reasons (mainly because I'm tired, though), I won't be posting mine until tomorrow.
What brilliant photos they all were, thanks posters for all your efforts. I gasped as I flicked through them:handclap: Well done you, all.
First thing my grandkids said when they saw the Grand Princess was "Wow a ship with a spoiler"
I beleive the "spoiler" is actually a reasturant!
That is a huge ship and I am dissappointed that I missed it but am going to try and get to see it next time it is in Liverpool.
There are some really great pics here !!!

Liverpool yesterday welcomed a giant of the sea.
Peter Elson reports...
I don't want to swamp the thread with my photos.
Here it is turning in front of the Gasworks.

No it was one of my rare days without him as he went to school for the first
time on an introduction half day. He starts school after the summer holidays.
This brings to an end 11 years of grandchildren minding as we had 2 more before him. They have started school knowing all about all the wildlife and nature in the country and the sea, they are able to name all the fishes in the sea,and how tides work and at 2 years they could name all the stations from Kirkby to Liverpool and Southport.
We have 24 grandchildren but only started to mind the last 3 when I retired
from work. So now I can really retire.

Spot on :handclap: She really is a cracking ship. I think i will go over the water when she comes back.
I heard the Qe2 is coming on 3rd October, anyone know if this is true, it will be the last chance to see her as its her farewell tour.
Thanks. :PDT_Aliboronz_11:
I whittled it down to about a dozen.
The tugs were alongside like this for about an hour.

Great pics Philip. They get appreciated on here.
I believe you met my brother and nephew down at the terminal. You'll know who I mean if I say the latter is an 'old man' for his tender years. :unibrow:
It's lovely how friendly people are on occasions like this.
I'll need another clue, Ged. :PDT_Aliboronz_24:

And as you were saying bye to her as she disappeared around that corner, Quincyg was saying hello on Crosby beach.
The little fella i'm on about is disabled on his feet, cheeky too :) They certainly knew you as PhilipG so I bet he asked you your name? It was early 6-7am.

Absolute brilliant pics everyone. Some fine photographers on here:handclap:
Excellent stuff:PDT_Piratz_26:
heres a couple of supersized photos, or of Ark Royal while moored (taken from Seacombe) and a second of the Grand Princess a it passed by Egremonnt Ferry on the way out of Liverpool. Hope these are in the correct section.
You can see the joins if you look, but the Grand Princess one was VERY difficult to stitch due to it moving, and affecting the light. But it looks OK...:D
The photos here are just smaller 'thumbnails', for the full sizes click the links..
