It's proper name is Eldon Grove and according to a couple of earlier posts, all 3 blocks, the surrounding railings and lamps are indeed listed. However, certain circumstances can render them to be de-listed and demolished.

So, has this actually happened already - or is there a developer standing by and living in hope?

Went back inside Eldon Grove again yesterday and was surprised to find that the top flats have an internal staricase up to another level.

The gates have been open again now for over a week...

Nice pics Ged... I got similar pics over a week ago on my mobile phone...
I'd put the car in for its MOT and had a nosey round on the way home..

The council are well aware of the gate situation, it looks to me like they don't give a toss about Eldon Grove..
makes you wonder, doesn't it ?... let everybody loose in the place knocking it to pieces stealing what they want..

what then ?... an easy excuse to demolish..?

Was by it yesterday,noticed the gate wide open and even the surrounding metal sheet fencing is damaged in parts.
What a difference in just a few weeks.

As you can see,the flats had been modernised to a fairly good standard,again, so why weren't they let?????

Only a few were completed Steve and it seems the developer had problems letting them to release some more funds for the rest as the tenants would have been living on a building site for quite some time. It's a shame really as it looks like he had a good go.

Note the tinned up flats on the top floor which were renovated.
