I remember the Pun club, it was run by Jake Abrams & Vinny Robbo, it was just steps from Kitty,s pub the Albert, do you remember the Time & Place
it was up that narrow Street at the side of The Hanover Hotel, where all the

The Time Piece - I think it changed it's name to the Time & Place (or vice versa) anyway, went there frequently, in the days when Les Spain was DJ.
Yeah, a lot of posing - - I was saying in another thread how important it was to know the new dances .. usually from America .. and you had to learn them before you went the club at the weekend! :PDT_Piratz_26: It was crucial that you were cool :unibrow:

I was (and still am) a trog and I went to the Timepiece once.My ears and head took weeks to get over the crap muzak, the short hair, bad clothes and regimental dancing.

Lindylou I bet I,d know your face, I went there regularly, knew Les Spain
well, your dead right about the dances, around that time we would drop in
the Blue Angel for a Bevvie or two, it was the Time & place first, they had
to change the name because there was one in Manchester :)

Does anyone remember the guy who worked the door on Hollywood on duke st. big bald headed black guy...the club was one of Herberts (of hairdresser fame)...and was one of the plushest and hardest to get into in the 70's ?

I am trying to place the clubs on the following streets.....Duke St, Wood St, Seel St,. etc...in the early to late 70's....
If we start off on Duke Street, I know Hollywood was definately there
Seel St..was Bablou ?, Timepiece ?
Wood St. I think Rio's was here ....
Any help or recollections appreciated...
