MORRIS dancing groups took to the streets of Liverpool city centre.
The day of traditional English dance was organised by the Southport Swords and the all-female Mockbeggar Morris Dancers.
The all-day event saw eight dance groups performing in Liverpool One, Williamson Square, Albert Dock and Church Street on Saturday.
Dave Roberts, of Southport Swords, said: ?The idea was to show people how to dance and hopefully some will join us.?

We seem to be attracting a better class of busker in Church St

Church St Buskers seem to be getting younger or I`m getting older.
I like the collection bucket money goes in but none can come out
He does look very young to be having to sit and play music for a few bob..but, maybe he enjoys it.. Wonder if the umbrella was his mums idea?:002:
Nice one Howie. Love to see his act. Can't have much of a repetoire though.

I loved the Peruvian type indians and their pan pipes. Saw some in Majorca last year, and I could stand and listen to them for hours. Also the two young rock guys, one has got a hand missing. They are superb too.

Can anyone work out how this 'living statue' holds his pose ! ??
How does he maintain that sitting position with no seat !! He stays in this pose for ages without so much as a slight wobble !
I can guarantee that there is no 'invisible' seat - it's just fresh air bleow him ! I don't know how it's done http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...ars/e20301.gif

It's a frame thing on his legs. Seen this before somewhere.
Wow, there are so many interesting performers in Liverpool! Sorry, but do you know, that if you will film them with any device you have you can win a digital camera? I'm working for R&R Music and running the buskers competition. The rules are simple -
1. Film the street performer you like
2. Upload your video to YouTube
3. Paste the code here - http://randrworld.com/buskers.php
Each month we will reward with a digital camera the person who submits the video and story that receives the most votes during that month from the users of R&R World Arena.
Try yourself! :)
Here's a couple of pic's of a fire eater,in Church st, last Saturday!

Church St buskers
Saw this old chap in Paradise st today.
I felt sorry for him -he looked so bedraggled and frail ! The music he was playing was so feint you could hardly hear it !
He looked to me like he should have been in a comfy armchair somewhere - not hanging around the town.
It's a shame !
Maybe Lindylou... He feels alive getting out and playing his violin to whoever wants to listen.. He at least had music in his soul, and a lovely violin to play... Frail, maybe... full of music....priceless.... Hope you gave him a few bob..
yes I give him some of my change :)
