Default Scouse Mouse Poem

By Kev aged 9

There once was a mouse,
Who lived in a house.
And all he ate,
Was scouse.

That's as far as I got and was a big achievement for me being so young. This was my first experience of a supply teacher who must have lived on planet mars or something.

Can u imagine my horror and disgust when my book was returned the next day with the coldest put - down I've ever experienced in my life. She wrote in red pen underneath:

There is no such thing as scouse

Predudice? Snobbery? A bully? I wonder what drove her to write such a comment, maybe I should have known my place, how dare I write such tosh

aahh, that was a great little poem for you to write at that young age.

Fancy the teacher being so mean to write that.

Even if she had to point out that perhaps the word Scouse might be slang .. she could have at least worded her comment with a little sensitivity.
She should have written something encouraging as well as any criticism.

Wow, your first poem at the age of nine!

Some teachers are just stupid...
