A different view of Kirkdale Depot from Melrose Rd , Where the greenery is was once a lot more tracks but it has been landfilled and nature did the rest.
The Royal pub and the Commodore cinema can be seen on the skyline

Aha - so you found the open gates halfway down Melrose Road. I have an almost identical pic to yours on my site. It's for lorry access I think, judging by the slope leading down to the tracks.

Yes Ged I walked in but turned left went down to the bottom and walked through the tunnels under Stanley Rd that I posted yesterday, came out by the Knowsley pub. I then walked along Stanley Rd, Scotland Rd on into town as you can see from my pub pics on my flickr site. I noticed the work of art is finished in Great Mersey St so I`ve posted that as well

    Default Sandhills Station

Sandhills Station opened again on monday after many months of closure for refurbishment. It`s not finished yet, the target has been altered to November.
They have put some glass tiles in the roof of the stairwell to let more light in
and tempory shelters inside the framework of the new waiting rooms.
