    Default Rex Makin

Been around for as long as I can remember. My Dad, Gordon Wood was a JP for about 15 years and told me he was regarded as one of the smartest solicitors in the UK.

Funny enough, this is a topical subject for me. My Dad calls Bacon "Rex Makin" in a cockney rhyming slang kind of way. So now at work on a Friday I say "who's getting the Rex Makin sarnies in?"

    Lol.

What's so ironic about the bacon rhyming slang is that Rex Makin is Jewish

He favourite was taking on the police - and invariably winning. He was well known nationally and regarded as the best in his field. Over the years he has been mentioned often in Private Eye.

I was in the Rex Makin Room in the County Sessions House yesterday afternoon. Tom Murphy and Bill Sergeant were doing a talk on sculpture and raising funds for the Captain Noel Godfrey Chavasse, VC and Bar, MC, RAMC monument.
