got a reply from Helen Swift today.
She sent a form to fill in, and said there should be an open day soon.

    Will let you all know!

Yeah I got one too but I didn't get a form to fill in!

There are no bells in the tower but I want to have a good nose at the clock up there and see what was there at one time. As soon as there's an open day I'll be there too missy!

Check out the link to St James on your web site. The text below the church name applies to Newsham Park Orphans' Institute.

Jon mate, I see you're using some of my 1999 and 2003 Welsh Presbyterian Church pics on the Toxteth page of your excellent site. No probs Jon, but I need a credit and a link. Thanks

Cheers dear! There's actually no real 'point' to the website i.e. I'm not there to give solutions, I'm just going to be a thorn in the side of the Council while I add many more pages

DP's David Charters will be running a story on St James' Church regarding the baptisms of the black population of Liverpool. Not sure when the story will be run, but he'll be doing the interviewing in Robin Riley's house on the 18th. I'll be around when the interviews are carried out, so I'll ask him when I'm up there

    Bye

Taffy, nice one mate. I'll pass on this info to the ladies he'll be interviewing. I can't recall one of the ladies' names, but she wrote a treatise on the black population of Liverpool. I'll also ask Bob who is on the building commitee at St George's Church if he could find out some info. I used to know the vicar in St George's, but he's moved on and I haven't met the new lady vicar yet.
