    Remember those overhead traffic gantries!

    Theres also another photo with St Johns car park being built in the background but I'll need to scan that in the next few days!

    This is another plate from the Francis Frith Collection. The scene is so well known that it needs no mention but nevertheless it looks wonderful,

    Great pic Brian. I have seen a b&w one of the same view but that's a good un'. The large tower behind the County Sessions House belongs to Christ Church on Hunter Street which also contained a grave yard. This stood to the rear of Gianelli's chippy.
