Former Drill hall, Upper Warwick Street. This is the only pic I took of this in January 2003. The Florence Institute ran training courses here (until the very early 1990s?). Although the new building retains the same name, and the door openings look similar, take it from me there was nothing left standing of this building.
Toxteth.net has some directories online for Upper Warwick Street. I've seen similar buildings around...dark brown brick, with white/cream trim.
There is an even older Drill-hall in the area, still standing...the garage at the corner with Windsor Street. It's been a garage for as long as I can remember, though.

Not always a garage at the corner of Windsor St. Calor Gas had the site in the 70/80s. A part of it was a showroom for appliances. Previously it was a garage and also a part was showroom too. I think it was a main dealer so sold new cars - hazy on this.

longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the

In the days when we had nothing we had fun.
If tomorrow starts without me, remember I was here.

Here is an example of how to do it. This was taken a couple of weeks ago. It is a father and son returning after duty in Iraq. They were brought into town on a fire engine with lights and sirens, The mayor of our small town welcomed them and presented them with the key to the city.

BTW, that is me and Mrs. Shytalk on the extreme right of the pic,
