I know he was a bit edgey with his tax donkeys years ago, and that is the reason often mooted for the lack of a knighthood. However, he has to my knowledge never appeared in court on drugs related charges. Which is the worst?

I am not holding my breath though, and personally think it is a national scandal after all these years that he isn't knighted. Thoughts?
Could Ken Dodd's early enthusiasm for Margaret Thatcher be affecting the judgement of our current government? Though it shouldn't, since he was friends with Harold Wilson as well.
And the Queen herself has enjoyed his shows - shouldn't she have a say in the matter?? Surely we don't all have to vote Conservative to give Ken the recognition he deserves?
