Nice photos Lindy and Joe. Very good.
Forlorn looking snowman in a Liverpool street.
It's sad when your snowman melts nice pic lindy.
A couple of pics of swimmers taking part in 2009 Boxing Day Dip taken while I was floating in a swim ring - I wasn't cheating either, I was just wearing Speedos myself. First pic shows how it was done.
That second picture is my mate Robbie, you wouldn't believe he broke his back about 12 weeks ago. I was the last of that group to jump in, trying to pluck up the courage. Really enjoyed it though and will be jumping off the wall next year...

Some of my pics from the day are on that page.
I've actually got quite a few pics from the Dip, both from the floating SwimmerCam(tm) and some taken by my pal from the dock wall. I'll post some more on your thread if you wish. I was using both (waterproof) digital and 35mm cameras as the 35mm shoots instantly and can capture diving swimmers.

I'm not actually a member of the swimming club but a lone wildswimmer. I was cheating a bit in the Boxing Day Dip as I'm actually a fully cold-hardened winter swimmer so well used to bare-skin immersion in near-freezing water for extended periods without harm. The physiological changes that come with cold acclimatisation aren't compatible with fast competitive swimming, and I also lost quite a lot of my cardiac muscle after a heart attack back in '01. I really would like to take part in the cross-Mersey swim even though I may well have to hitch a lift in the safety boat part way across, although saying that I can cover a mile in around an hour. Most of my swimming is in the R. Weaver in Frodsham and Hatchmere in Delamere Forest, although I regularly visit New Brighton. Unfortunately I wouldn't pass the medical required before a Channel swim although I think I'd manage a relay.
By the way, if you were in one of the waves going in from the pontoon I may have a shot of you diving in.
