Paul, McLeans have had 2 years to get going on this part of the site. Lets hope the 3 towers will be as good as the renders illustrate.....

A recent sign, just North of the Tax Office building, states 'Trinity Dock', 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. I think the area was used as a car-park for the tax office staff.

Hi All. I'm off to the arena tonight to get a preview of the arena and the official opening next week. I'm really looking forward to it - it looks fabulous. Anyone else going? Cheers - Graham.

I looked out the window at work last night, looking over towards Kings Dock, and with the recent new lighting it looks ace - blue lights around the edge of the roof shining down, lights coming out from inside, the Echo Arena logo projected onto the wall, all reflected in the water beneath it - it looks brill!

Not to mention the pictures here

was down the arena area today (sunday) - great to see it busy and full of young families etc going to the first show. i think the arena will be a great asset to the city - its really beginning to look good down there.

be warned if your going next week, problems with car park - everyone beeping horns because of delays - thought i was back in milan

steel work going up for new apartments that will mask the car park...

riverside entrance to the arena, looks like they've robbed one of Gormley's statues from crosby beach

stand alone building between hotels and arena, suspect it might be an information centre?

two new hotels near the arena... there is quite a large piazza area which links both the hotels and the area (but still needs work).

The problem is that it is in the wrong place. It should be on the land side of Queens Dock, only a few hundred yards away. The adjacent Wapping rail tunnel could have a station at the end and then no cars around the place. They are having a bus park on in-filled historic docks. How dumb!!! A bus park!!!!

Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the

canals to view its modern museum describing
    how it once was?

The wind-turbines have been up for a few days outside the new arena. They have vertical blades. I haven't seen them working yet, despite the windy weather.

MORE than 100 jobs will be created at two new Liverpool waterfront hotels.

The Jurys Inn and Staybridge Suites being built next to the ECHO Arena at Kings Dock will welcome their first guests later this year. more

wind turbines in the city ? thats a bit mad, the sound from the blades will be almost undetected locally but 2-3 miles away will be quite significant? or am i a bit confused. it seems to be an eco statement, wind turbines in a city ?

    Feb 15 2008
by David Bartlett, Liverpool Daily Post

ONE of the most high-profile events in the UK’s political calendar, the TUC annual conference, is to be held in Liverpool for the first time.

The event will be held at ACC Liverpool, home of the BT Convention Centre, in September 2009. Some 750 delegates will attend the four-day conference with around 3,000 visitors, journalists, and exhibitors also expected.

In previous years, the event has provided a platform for Prime Ministers, senior government figures, and trade unionists.

Last night, it was estimated the conference will provide a £2m boost to Liverpool’s economy.
