    Hello Annette

I am sorry to hear about your father and do wish you luck in your search. I don't believe I have any specific information to help you. One of my doctors when I was a little boy fifty years ago was a lady doctor named Dr. Dunn but possibly no relation to your family.

Hi Annette, you don't need to pay
if you know your fathers name and date of birth, you could get his death certificate from Liverpool Registary Office that will cost you about £7,
http://www.liverpool.gov.uk/Business...ar/index.aspdo this will record where he died and the name of the person who registed the death, do you know where he died that might give you a clue which is the nearest cemetery or crematorium?.
    http://www.liverpool.gov.uk/Communit...oria/index.asp

If you contact the main office at Allerton they might be able to help you in your quest.
Come back for further help, there are a number of people on this site who might offer more suggestions
Let us know how you get on.

    Dear Annette,

I've checked the records and your father's death was not registered in Liverpool but Lancaster. The death was recorded in quarter 3 ( July to Sept) 1976 at Lancaster ref 40 1556. He was born 15 Oct 1935. It's best to get the death certificate from the General register office. This can be done on line via

    Best wishes

    Dear Annette,

Your father could still be buried in Liverpool. You'd need to check with Liverpool Cemeteries Department once you've got the exact date of death from the death certificate.

    Best wishes

It's the cemeteries you probably need to contact, not the churches.
All cemeteries have records of who is buried there, and will be able to give you the site of the grave, even if it's unmarked.

Annette, Allerton is huge, you need to contact the office and ask them to search their records.

    Annette.

John's correct, Allerton Cemetery will have records.
It's very sad that your father's family feel that way.
One of my close relatives committed suicide, and some of the family have no sympathy for her, which is something I can't understand.

Annette, my situation is very close to yours, but I don't want to go into details.
It's wonderful that you're in touch with your sister after all this time.
Do get in touch with Allerton Cemetery - if your father is there, they will be able to tell you exactly where he is.
