The fire helps the weight loss. You sweat more.
But all you're losing is sweat which you will put back on when drinking to rehydrate you. You don't actually lose any weight that way.
What you do have to do is to get your body temperature up to a high level before you can actually burn fat as it burns at a high temperature. I used to wear a bin bag when on the treadmill till someone pointed out that the specialist drinks I had after was putting more salt and glucose back in the body than I had taken out.
