yeah ringo's house is still there. None of those Welsh streets have been demolished yet. But alot of the lower end nearer Princes Road are empty.

    Cool.

I plan to take a pic of the Ringo House before It's taken down brick by brick and restored In some new Museum so the photo will be unique.

It must be one of the most photographed houses in Liverpool, so it won't be unique, but I'm sure it'll be Godlike, Max.
Your photos are really good these days.

The window was not bricked up. It was simply an architectural feature typical of the 6 room Welsh builders terraced house design. You see them all over Liverpool. The Welsh streets were tree lined. Several of these Welsh Streets still have surviving large trees, see photo below.

Thanks taffy. Seems like a lot of effort and expense to have gone into, tbh. Maybe they had a cartful of spare lintels...

Incidentally, No. 9 Madryn St. is perfectly square, I've got some uncorrected barrel distortion on my pic - which was a passing snap whilst we took a detour in a rush to get somewhere else entirely.

this is just a few doors from Ringo's old place on Madryn St...

here's Admiral Grove, love those old paving stones.

I think the Starkey's swapped houses with a relative as Admiral Grove was a bit bigger.
Proud Scouser, with a dabbling of Welsh and Irish.

bore yourself silly at my Flickr page...anorak central!

    Smile Hello Everyone!

Is the house still there now? I signed the petition a long time ago and am trying to find out how things went.
