Why don't they use the 5th floor?

Currently there are no plans. The floor was closed because the store downsized. It wouldn't be economical to open further floors, and so it doesn't get used. I'm surprised they don't let some of it out as office space. The views from the windows are amazing though - it would make awesome apartments!!

Liverpool band Shack shot a video up there about 4 years ago for the single "Byrds Turn To Stone"...

Couldn't Lewis's make some money out of that floor like making It Into a tourist attraction to show the history of Lewis's?

I remember I used to go to some Kids club thing they had on the 3rd floor when I was a kid. Had kids meals and stuff I can;t remember.

The signs are still there I think of what It was.

When was the restaurant 'modernised' like it is in the photos?
Does anybody remember it being in a Tudor style?
My mum used to bring me to Liverpool on the Overhead Railway, so that must be before 1956, and I'm sure I remember Lewis's restaurant being in a completely different design, or did they have two?

    Default Near miss.

Just going through some more of my old pics, this was taken in the 80s of Everton Water tower. A section of our street was bombed when the enemy tried to bring this down, I see it,s still up.

That's a great idea Max. Wouldn't it be good if they did make a sort of retail museum and at the same time showing how the store used to look.

I have an old photograph somewhere of my dad and my uncle with a real monkey and I'm sure I was told that it was taken at Lewis's.

It would have been mid - late 60s.

Has anyone else heard of people having their photo taken with the monkey at Lewis's or anything like this?
