Excellent pics! You can never get a good picture in the Cathedral with the 'normal' camera - and yours is anything but normal!!
I've never noticed that set of ladders on the inside of the RC Cathedral in the Lantern of the staned glass windows - imagine having to go up that!!
Great pics again Gerard
I've not been to the Metropolitan for years, must get there again soon. Are those first few from the Crypt Hall? I had several exams in there when I was at uni. What a way to spoil an atmosphere
Great pics Gerard
Heres a nice B&W one from the MTT archive around 1950
oo look there just happens to be a bus on it too LOL!
regards
Rob
I know it's not but the bus almost looks superimposed on the pic.
Hey, hope this won't start a trend
It'll be a publicity shot.
There's no passengers on the bus.
Besides, Hope Street has never been a bus route.
I used to get the 72 when I lived in Ullet Road, and it's certainly off-route in this photo.
Rob, would you please put some (or all - I'm greedy!) of these great photos onto "Old Liverpool", please?
see link below.
There's no dispute of the photo in my book. They installed the louvers in the tower (the slats that look like half opened windows) in 1951, this photo shows the tower without so it's all correct.
Philip not a problem you cant help being greedy <grins>
I'd better get the scanner running for more shots!
I thought it looked superimposed too!
Hope to see you all on our Old bus running day on 9th Sept www.mttrust.co.uk
Regards
Rob
