Liverpool is not alone in having lost so many of its old pubs. I thought you may be interested in my feature, 'The Vanished Pubs of Chester' - which you can find here-

Chester & Liverpool Guided Walks

When just starting out on the ale trail at aged about 17 and knocking around the Birkett Street tenements/four squares area, we would start out at the Soho Arms, head along Greaty to The Lamplighter and the 7 Stars then perhaps take in the New York and Old Campfield before heading down to the Tugboat which was a great little walk and night and I think only the Old Campfield is the only one of those trading just now.
Your welcome; it wasn't a diversion really seeing as it was on the way home!
it will be interesting to see if these pubs are here in a few years time after Peel have done their work. Wirral MBC might dual Tower Road but I would imagine that this would go straight up to Charing Cross. Well, that's what I would do anyway.

Apologies for the durge in updates!
smashin old boozer is the hole in the wall in a little street off Dale St.
Too many old fashioned pubs have been demolished. The city is becoming too full with these horrible trendy cattlemarkets full of dance music. For a start you can't have a conversation in them.
Might not be the appropriate place like, but how do I post a pic in a reply, cos I`ve tried to cut and paste it to no avail!! got a great pic of a good old boozer on Scottie Rd. Anyone got a tip for me? Even if it is blatant!! I`ve only just started out with all this computer lark, mainly cos of me job, but its all about websites like this one for me now! Only knew how to rob the things till 4 years ago!!!! :-)
Giz-a-clue will ya!!!???????????
