Nice one Birdy.
My sister lived in West Derby for about 20 years. Always seemed so nice, in her area anyway. I stayed there every year when I went home.
Earth is the insane asylum for the universe.
West Derby Evangelist Church....
West Derby Courthouse 1568...
The Old Court house dates from 1568 and is situated opposite the Village Cross. It is made from red sandstone with a stone roof. The stone mullioned windows have small leaded panes with wooden shutters. Inside there is timber court-room furniture including a high chair for the Steward. It was used as a court of the Lord of the Manor where disputes between tenants, local matters affecting the manor and land rights were settled. In 1933, the Lord of the Manor, the Marquis of Salisbury, gave the freehold of the building over to the City of Liverpool.
Nice pics there Birdy
Thanks mart , cads site has got a link to this West Derby thread so a thought i would put a load of photos on covering the area.
Not just for the Everton or football enthusiast, but an interesting history of Bellefield here, the area, the old mansion, it's uses over time and now its future plans.
