BE NICE......................OR ELSE
Spike, sorry about this, have replied twice and both posts disappeared. Getting a bit p...ed off.
Ok now finally. Didn't live in the area, just knew Rix a bit through someone else, but I know he went to the Holt grammar school on Queens Drive.
Don't remember much from the Echo reports, mainly that he made a statement saying he wanted to kill somebody, and that he went to Broadmoor. Also that his father was a merchant seaman and the shipping company flew him home.
What I find interesting now is (1) underworld saying that he was identified through police door to door work, this is good stuff--any more detail? (2) The file in the National Archive is sealed for 85 years, is this the norm or does this tell us something? (3) Although only 15 his name was made public, was this standard practice then?
More questions than answers Spike. And if you are a nosey sod that makes two of us.
He was identified through door to door work. The Detective was'nt happy with answers he gave and they found blood stained clothing in his bedroom. You are right about his father being a seaman too.
I would say it is normal for the National Archives to put a lengthy seal on such cases as family are still alive and the details of the murders can be horrifying.
